In the competitive realm of sales, where creativity can be a game-changer, one Kenyan man is turning heads with his unconventional approach to promoting pesticides.

Meet Stephen Mwangi, a seasoned salesperson and regional sales manager in Nakuru, who has taken the art of salesmanship to new heights by purchasing cockroaches and bedbugs for Ksh 5 each to use in his sales promotions.

Mwangi’s unique marketing strategy involves utilizing live cockroaches and bedbugs as visual aids during his sales pitches, particularly for the recently introduced ‘One Touch’ insecticide.

This groundbreaking approach has garnered attention and raised eyebrows in Nakuru, where Mwangi aims to capture the market’s interest through on-the-spot demonstrations.

In an exclusive interview, Mwangi revealed the rationale behind his attention-grabbing tactics.

Recognizing the importance of making a significant impact in a new market like Nakuru, he embarked on live demonstrations almost two years ago.

According to him, these dramatic measures are essential for drawing crowds and driving sales in a competitive environment.

Addressing the logistics of his distinctive sales strategy, Mwangi provided insights into the meticulous process of sourcing live insects.

He explained that he has a dedicated group of boys responsible for procuring cockroaches and bedbugs.

In times of scarcity, these insects are carefully transported to Nakuru in sacks to prevent suffocation, showcasing the commitment to maintaining the quality of his unique sales demonstrations.

As he continues to capture the public’s curiosity with his unorthodox methods, the Nakuru market becomes a testing ground for the success of this peculiar yet attention-grabbing sales strategy.

The use of live insects as visual aids adds a sensory dimension to Mwangi’s sales pitches, creating a memorable experience for potential customers.

This approach not only sets him apart from traditional sales techniques but also emphasizes the efficacy of the ‘One Touch’ insecticide through real-time demonstrations.

Stephen Mwangi’s unconventional sales strategy demonstrates the lengths to which inventive minds can go to stand out in a competitive market.
