
Two- time Olympic 1500m Champion Faith Kipyegon says she is so greatful to have been nominated for the prestigious 2021 Female World Athlete of the year award.
Kipyegon,who missed out on the Maashujaa Day recognition list, faces stiff competition from her Dutch rival Sifan Hassan,Shaunae Miller-Uibo (BAH),Elaine Thompson-Herah (JAM), Valarie Allman,Athing Mu, Sydney McLaughlin (USA), Jasmine Camacho-Quinn (PUR), Mariya Lasitskene (ANA) and Yulimar Rojas (VEN) for award.
The 1500 Dimond League Champion becomes the second Kenyan to be shortlisted for the awards slated for December after marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge was nominated for the Male World Athlete of the year on Thursday.
