
- A single father from Elburgon in Nakuru county has been
thrown into mourning after losing his three children in a house
fire
on the Tuesday, September 28, incident, the man, George
Omosa Ongeri, is said to have stepped out to purchase milk
at around 6.30pm when the inferno started
Omosa said he received a call from his neighbour, informing
him his house was on fire and his three children, two girls
aged six and five and a boy aged four were trapped inside. He
hurriedly rushed home and found his neighbours trying to
extinguish it
The man was solely taking care of his children after he
separated from his wife three years ago. On the fateful day,
he is said to have left the children asleep with a jiko lit in
another room.
TV47 reported that the man worked as a night guard at a
fueling station in Elburgon and usually left the children alone
when going to work. Confirming the incident, Molo
Sub-County Police Commander Mwenda Mutamia said
investigations had been launched to ascertain the cause of
the fire. The remains of the deceased were taken to Elburgon
Sub-County Hospital mortuary.
