    • Nsambya 3-4 Kyetume
    • PCCP Soccer Academy 0-3 Express

Ezra Kizito Kaye shone brightest as Kyetume edged Nsambya 4-3 during the round of 64 contest in the 2021-2022 Stanbic Uganda Cup at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Friday, January 28, 2022.

The Slaughters’ other goal came from a well struck penalty by Emmanuel Kalyowa.

Ramathan Ogen struck a brace and Isaac Oforywoth the other goal in a spirited fight for Nsambya.

Ogen scored the opening goal for Nsambya with a neat tap-in at the near post off Solomon Lwanga’s assist.

Kyetume equalized on the stroke of half time when Kaye headed past goalkeeper Aristotte Muhindo after a teasing free-kick delivery by the Kyetume skipper Dan Birikwalira.

Two minutes into the second half, Kyetume was awarded a penalty that Kalyowa converted sending Muhindo the wrong way a 2-1 lead.

Kaye established a two goal lead for The Slaughters with a fierce shot inside the goal area on the 55th minute mark.

By the half mark, the writing was well spelt on the wall that Kyetume was desired for victory as Kaye completed his hat-trick on the sunny afternoon.

Ogen pulled back a goal, the second for Nsambya following a school-boy mistake by Kyetume goalkeeper.

With a quarter an hour left on the clock, Oforywoth made it 3 for Nsambya to create a tense ending to the game.

Kyetume held onto the lead to win 4-3 as they advanced to the round of 32.

The second game played at the same venue witnessed a 10-man Express out-smart PCCP Soccer Academy 3-0.

First half goals by George Ssenkaaba (penalty), Joseph Akandwanaho and Mahad Yaya Kakooza gave the Red Eagles an easy victory.

Express were reduced to 10 man after a send-off for Enock Ssebaggala for a harsh foul onto Hakim Matovu.

Express strolled to the round of 32.
