Uhuru Kenyatta Tells President Ruto to Listen to Kenyans
Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has urged current leaders running the government to listen to the plights of Kenyans and also reflected on his life as a retiree from public office.
Speaking on Sunday in Meru, the former president laughed off individuals he said wanted the glamour and shine associated with certain high offices not knowing the challenges that such positions came with.
” Life as a retiree is very good, especially if you are retired while still healthy and energetic and when you don’t have any responsibilities. You just watch others on TV because there are those who think this job is easy.
“When they see someone powerful walking around they think the job is all about being in power; you will be surprised. I have noted that some have started being shocked already. Leadership is not an easy job,” he said.
Uhuru, who has stayed out of public limelight after retirement also urged Christians to pray for leaders and noted the church had a moral responsibility to ensure the country stays on the right path.
