A 24-year-old Eldoret lady wept bitterly as her husband of 24 hours, also from Eldoret, filed for divorce on the grounds that she had denied him conjugal rights.
They had been dating for three years, but they ended their relationship less than a day after they exchanged vows because of their incompatibilities.

Jackline Chepngetich claims that after she and her husband Kiptanui was married at the AIC Fellowship Church in Eldoret, he abandoned her less than a day afterwards.
Jackline, obviously upset, shared the sad story of how her husband had asked for conjugal privileges on their wedding night, but she had declined, saying she was too weary.
Kiptanui confronted Jackline, complaining about how long he had to wait for her to return after she suggested they remain celibate till marriage.
He continued by saying that they had waited so long for their wedding night, and now she was denying them the one thing they were supposed to do together.

She tried to negotiate with her husband, telling him there would be another chance and that she was too exhausted from the wedding day’s events to listen to any of his complaints. She finally convinced him to get some sleep and they planned to discuss it in the morning.
Jackilne’s parents called her the next morning to break the news that her husband wanted a divorce because, shockingly for a Kalenjin bride, she had refused to comply with his request on their wedding night.
Kiptanui, on the other hand, was unable to be found because he had abandoned their honeymoon hotel reservation in Diana after only two nights in order to return to his homeland of Eldore.
When Jackline went to the front desk to find out where he was, she learned that he had already left. Jackline is currently unmarried and claims she hasn’t seen Kiptanui since he divorced her and remarried a few months ago.
