27 year old Field Marshall Kanji. He also called himself “Sir General Hika Hika.”
The photo was taken on Feb 11,1956 after he had surrendered at Kagore village,Magutu location South Nyeri.
According to Special Branch sources Kanji commanded a group of fighters who operated within the Western Mt Kenya forest.
