Former and late president of Tanzania John Pombe Magufuli is well know for defying the Corona virus regulations. What did this man have concerning future economy crisis.

While countries were seriously adhering to the regulation given by World Health Organisation (WHO) so as to reduce the spread of the virus such as restriction of movement from one country to another, commonly referred to as closing of borders, wearing of masks, keeping distances, avoiding over crowded places and sanitazing after shaking hands.

Tanzania under the leadership of Magufuli failed to adhere to such regulation and instead focussed on doing business so as to cater for the future of uncertain economy,

In one of the speeches he was heard boldly declaring before audience “sifungi” meaning he was not ready to close borders. His reasons were that closure of border would mean closure of some business, he instead encouraged Tanzanians to follow the other requlations laid done by (WHO) and don’t cease to work because he predicted the possibility of hard economy ahead and if they continued to work they would beat it
