The bible actually records two people who were after God’s own heart. The first one most of you might know him while the second person im not sure. It’s my desire to give you a brief well detailed informations about these two men who loved the most.
They are David and John the disciple of Jesus.
How is it that David was after God’s own heart? Here are a few examples as to why David retained the title of a man after God’s own heart
1. David was hardworking
Interestingly God looks at a man commitment in the natural before using him in the spiritual, this however does not mean skills do qualify one to be used by God, but again we don’t read anywhere in the whole bible where God used a lazy person.
2. David was a worshiper
David had passion in worshipping God. A private worshiper is a public worshiper no doubt, this is because true worship is revelation of who God is; this therefore means the greater the revelation the greater the worship. To worship God in spirit and in truth one needs to have God as the highest priority.
3. David was not bitter
Even after being rejected and considered to be the least in his family, this did not make him resent as a matter his heart was pure. And any opportunity he got serve his brothers he did it with clean heart without ill feelings toward them
How is John also a man after God’s own heart?
John was indeed a man after God’s own heart and here is why
Scripture says Jesus is God john 10:30 this therefore means John being a man pleased God. The reason as to why he was loved by Jesus the most is because
1. The disciple was tender and affectionate
2. He was Jesus trusted disciple to take care of his mother
3. He received special instructions
4. He did not die from boiling oil.
