    A few weeks ago in the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations Sadio Mane scored the winning penalty in the final against Egypt which helped his country lift it’s first AFCON trophy.

    nfirmed to the Egyptians that the previous penalty was not from luck by scoring just another winning penalty that sent Senegal direct to Qatar for the world cup while ensuring that the Egyptians will be watching the tournament on Tv.

    The match was a return leg in Dakar Senegal after the first leg in Cairo Egypt ended in a shallow win for the pharaohs when they won by one goal to nil from an own goal by Senegal’s Cisse. In this match Senegal opened the scores in the fourth minute from a goal by Boulaye Dia and the goal was enough for the 90-minutes. The tie ended in a one-all draw on aggregate and had to be decided on penalties after ending in a goal less draw after extra time. Senegal scored three out of five penalties while Egypt just managed to score one with the likes of Salah sending his over the posts. Senegal goalkeeper Mendy saved a penalty that helped Senegal qualify for their third world cup and a back to back qualification.

    In other fixtures Cameroon came from a home loss down to win by two goals to one in Algiers Algeria. This result left Cameroon qualified due to away goal rule. A goal from Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey ensured that Ghana qualify for their first world cup since 2014. The match ended in one-all draw Ghana qualifying on away goal.
    Elsewhere in Morocco home team thrashed with no mercy D.R Congo by four goals to one ensuring their qualification by five goals to two on aggregate. In the match between Tunisia and Mali less occured and the match ended in a goalless draw but Tunisia qualified with an aggregate of one goal to nil which they scored in the first leg away in Bamako Mali.
