Babu Owino Clarifies ODM Allegiance
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has reaffirmed his loyalty to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), dispelling speculation that he has parted ways with the party.
Speaking on Thursday, 28th August 2025, Babu stated that his actions should not be mistaken as rebellion against ODM or its leadership. Instead, he emphasized that his focus is on ensuring the government remains accountable to the people of Kenya.
“I have not left ODM. We are not fighting the party or its leadership. What we are doing is holding the government accountable, something I believe even our party leader, Raila Odinga, would support,” Babu remarked.
His clarification comes amid heightened political debates and realignments within the opposition, where some leaders have faced accusations of disloyalty. Babu, however, insisted that constructive criticism and oversight are part of ODM’s core principles, values he intends to uphold as he continues his political journey.
