Karen Nyamu, a lawmaker and social media celebrity in Kenya, is too level-headed to let doubters throw her off track. She rose to prominence after having a romance with Samidoh Muchoki, the Kikuyu Benga musician and spouse of Eddy Nderitu.
People have speculated for a while that Karen is footing the bill for Samidoh’s lavish lifestyle, which has been met with ambivalence given that Samidoh is wealthy himself.
Just a few hours earlier, Karen commented on Facebook, “When you are in a position to help someone, always do it because that is God answering Someone’s prayer through you,” encouraging her followers to help others whenever possible.
In a reply, one of her fans urged her to support Samidoh so that, upon leaving her care, he, too, would be prosperous. Karen said that she couldn’t date a poor man like Samidoh, therefore she assumed he was a millionaire.
She then told the follower to look up Samidoh on the internet so she could learn more about him.
