Mohammed Ali was re-elected as the United Democratic Alliance candidate for the Nyali constituency in Mombasa county in 2018. This is Ali’s second term as an elected official.

Mohammed Ali, a member of parliament, was sued by the Kenyatta family, owners of the Brookside daily milk company, last year after he made public charges that the mega-milk corporation exploits farmers by buying milk cheaply from them and then selling it at high prices.
The court has decided to drop the case against the Nyali lawmaker in exchange for the lawmaker’s payment of Ksh. 500,501, plus Ksh. 950 and Ksh. 1500 in collecting costs from Brookside.
Mohammed Ali has been given permission by the court to sell off a number of company assets, such as forty cows valued at Ksh. 150,000, a cooling plant valued at Ksh.400,000, computers valued at Ksh.20,000, seven reception seats at Ksh.6,000, office desks valued at Ksh.21,000, office chairs valued at Ksh.20,000, and printers valued at Ksh.14,000.
