    Tribute to Kenya’s Legend Journalist Swale Mdoe

    Kenyan-born news anchor, author, and journalist Swaleh Mdoe. He is the managing editor for Citizen TV’s Kiswahili service.Swaleh earned his KCE at Mombasa’s Tudor Day School in 1996. He was able to continue his education for a Diploma in Human Rights and Media at the Media Institution. Swaleh attended Malaspina University College for her Bachelor of Communication in Media Studies between 2003 and 2005.

    Swaleh Mdoe has been a staple of Kenyan television for almost 30 years. He’s still very impressive in his news delivery. He is widely respected for his command of the Swahili language and the popularity of his ‘Tafakari ya Babu’ segments.

    Swaleh’s career in journalism began in 1995, when he joined the BBC as a Swahili correspondent and continued until 1999. Swaleh went on to become a host for NTV from 1999 to 2001.

    His tenure as KTN’s local news anchor lasted from 2001 till 2007. In 2007, he started his career as a local news anchor for Royal Media. Swaleh is recognized for hosting the Swahili news on Citizen TV under the title “Tafakari ya Babu.”

    On average, Swaleh brings in 800,000 Ksh every month.In April 2015, Citizen TV dismissed Swaleh Mdoe and a few other journalists on suspicion of corruption. It has been reported that in this case, journalists took money from a politician in order to conceal news that had already been disseminated.

    In 2018, he posted on social media that he was considering selling a kidney. He admitted that he was having financial difficulties.

    Swaleh has had at least six works published before this. His latest book, “Mpira wa Killo na Wenzake,” was published this year.
