At an age when so many young people are interested in the media industry, Arap Uria learned early on how important it is to find one’s own specialization. He picked up his phone and started recording a series of films that he planned to upload to the internet because he was determined to make his fantasies come true.
Three years later, he had no idea that his videos would have racked up millions of views and that YouTube would become his primary source of revenue, on top of the many sponsorships he would receive from other brands.

The comedian who found success by parodying famous football broadcasters will be in Qatar for the Fifa World Cup as part of his act.
Age-wise, he clocks in at 26.
Genuine Identity
That guy’s name is Meshack Kiprop Biwott.
Education
Kamauwa is a settlement in Moiben Constituency, Uasin Gishu county, where the YouTuber was born. He started his studies in Mutei, where he later completed his primary education, before moving on to two different high schools before graduating from Tambach.
Arap Uria then went on to earn a Bachelor of Education from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology. He majored in math and geography and will be graduating in 2019.
Career
The name Uria originates with his grandfather, who served as an inspiration for his protagonist. First, he became known for his drunken antics in comedic short films. These clips were mostly recorded in his native tongue.
His father, a devout Christian, was very dismayed by this because he thought such behavior was unacceptable. Even yet, she urged him to do what made him happy. His father joined the team later on, inspired by his son’s incredible popularity.
Fresh Off the Boat
In the beginning, things were tough. Both his subscriber count and his video views were abysmal. This did not stop him, and whenever he borrowed someone’s phone, he made sure to add his channel as a subscribed one.
He also used his dad’s phone to share links with his dad’s various online communities. When he was done, he would erase the messages so his dad wouldn’t find out. Others predicted his failure and thought he wouldn’t amount to anything.

The young man was unyielding in his pursuit of his goal. At last, the notion struck him to start imitating famous people. His impressions included William Ruto, the vice president, and Raila Odinga, the leader of the opposition party.
The way he executed it was so cool, everybody liked it. It was incredible to see how much thought he put into his expressions, clothes, and presentation. If he really wanted to memorize a famous person’s speech, he’d stay up all night doing it. He planned to film and upload the video the following day.
And since so many people are into football, he decided to do one on a sports pundit. He began with Martin Taylor, and then moved on to Peter Drury. Peter Drury’s subscription base swelled thanks to the attention his commentary garnered.
Rising In Demand
Response to his films astounded him. The number of people who followed him and sent him positive feedback grew beyond Kenya’s borders. He now receives messages of support from as far away as Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa, and Senegal.
The number of people who have subscribed to his channel has risen to over 261,000, and three of his videos have received over a million views. With much effort and perseverance, he is now able to confidently assert that comedy is a lucrative profession. When Jim Berkeley tweeted about his video, it was one of his proudest moments. He remarked on how much he appreciated the mugs.
He also collaborates with a friend known as “Gogo Smallz” on some Facebook videos in which they mimic sports commentators. For the videos, he dresses as his wife.
He credits God, his early backers, and his loyal audience with helping him get where he is today in the comedy world.
