A new revelation has revealed the amount of money President Uhuru Kenyatta allegedly used on a daily basis to campaign for his candidate Raila Odinga, only days after one of President William Ruto’s loyalists, Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei, claimed there is less than Ksh94 million left in the treasury.
According to the latest estimate, the former president spent an astounding Ksh1.4 Billion ($14.6 million) on public events in the statehouse during his final year in power.

In a meeting at the State Department, Uhuru asserts his authority over his successor.
Daily hospitality costs for Raila Odinga’s campaign delegates came to Ksh4 million, or about $430,000. This cost was split between the state house and the presidency.

The controller of the budget report reveals that executive expenditure on non-essentials skyrocketed over the period, leading to a dramatic increase in the statehouse budget.
This comes at a time when citizens are already struggling to make ends meet due to the high cost of living brought on by the government’s misguided policies and inadequate budgeting.

It was reported by Cherargei that President William Ruto could only find Sh93.7 million in the Treasury. He was backed up by Rigathi Gachagua, the vice president, who said that people should be patient while the situation is being dealt with.
According to Gachagua, it will take Ruto’s government at least three months once the economy has steadied to begin lowering the price of fuel and subsidizing Unga prices.
