While quoting bible scriptures does not depict one to be godly, here are several favourite bible verses his excellence deputy president of the Republic of Kenya (William Ruto)has been heard quoting them frequently during meetings
This could mean two things; he is either a man who loves God for himself or he is using bible scriptures to help himself for advantage of politics.
Here are several bible verses Ruto loves even though some time he misquotes them but it’s evident that he loves quoting the bible.
1. Isaiah 10:1 which says “Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decreases, to deprive the poor of their rights and without justice from the poor, making the widows the prey and robbing the fatherless” this statement said it while objecting the referendum that opposed the passing of the popularly known “BBI”
2. Psalms 68:1 “May God arise , may his enemies be scattered, may his foes flee before him” his excellency quoted this during church service which was for ordination of pastor Francis Ngutiko as Ark-Deacon of the African independent Pentecostal church of Africa.
3.1 Peter 2:10 “Once you were not a people, but now you are a people of God, once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy” his excellency quoted this during an interdenominational church service, held at Cheberorwa Marakwet west Elgeyo Marakwet county.
4. Galatians 6:10 this time he didn’t quoted the exactly words of the bible but he pharaphesd where he said “whenever you get a chance, do good unto others moreso members of the house of faith. His said this to back his unrelenting support to the church.
5.Luke 6:20 “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdome of God” quoted this scripture during is campign in Trans Nzoia
6. 1 corithian 1:18 ” for the message of cross is foolishness to those who are perishing but to us who are being saved it is the power of God” he quoted this during a meeting he had with church leaders; this scripture was written by Apostle Paul meaning those who believe in Jesus Christ look insane in the eyes of unbelievers.
7. Colossians 3:23 “whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though working for God and not human masters. His excellence quoted this via twitter handle to call for peace in the parliament.
Some time his excellence does not accurately quote the scriptures as they are in the bible. Some of the time he misquotes them which leaves alot of questions to his followers. For example instead of accurately quoting Mathew 6:35 he used the words to Mathew 6:33 to justify the qoute which says “but seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all things shall be added to you.
While his excellence is to known to be a bible person; he actually does not use bible for political gain but its evidence that bible has became his favourite book because of the truth stated in the book of job 28:28 which states “behold reference to the Lord is the true wisdom and to depart from evil is understanding” this confirms deputy presidents inclinations to the bible.
