On Tuesday, the accused, headmaster of Kitengela’s Great Elite Academy, appeared in court.

The prosecution, led by Counsel Gladys Chepngeno, proved the case beyond a reasonable doubt, according to a report from the Director of Public Prosecution.
The headteacher was found guilty of the allegations leveled against him and sentenced to life in prison during the ruling of the case, which had been in court for eight years.

“ODPP is working closely with criminal justice actors to ensure that they clear backlog of cases in the system,” read the statement.
