Prof Hamo Herman Gakobo Kago now claims to have only one wife, and it is not Stella Koitie aka comedian Jemutai. Jemutai and Hamo have a son and a daughter together.
The former Hot 96 FM host opened up about his reported baby mama issue, leaving radio, and the much-discussed DNA test demands in an interview with a local publication.
Hamo stated that he had only one wife, Jemutai, with whom he has two children.
“I have a wife and then there is Jemutai with whom I am raising our children,” Hamo told Tuko.
In response to requests to determine the paternity of Jemutai’s children, the comedian claims that his action was procedural rather than malicious.
According to reports, Hamo sought the DNA tests as a precaution and to confirm that he was the father of the children.
“I did a DNA test. In every relationship, when you get yourself in that situation, you are advised to do a test,” he added.
He also claims that he wanted to keep the drama out of the public eye before it became too big to handle.
Hamo says he left Hot 96 FM on his own will, not because of the turmoil with Jemutai. He goes on to say that owing to his tight radio schedules, he realized he had stopped doing things he enjoyed, so he voluntarily departed three weeks before the baby mama drama began.
“I was losing jobs and clients because I would take the down payment only to fall asleep in my parked car and wake up past the agreed time,” he concluded.
Hamo and Jemutai, the mother of his two children, had a front-row seat to the drama in May of last year, thanks to social media users.
Jemutai accused Hamo of being a deadbeat father who abandoned her when she became pregnant. She went on to say that he reappeared later and paged her for the second child before leaving.
Hamo published a statement denying the allegations, but his supporters were outraged.
“I have children who live with me and others who don’t live with me. I have been providing for my children from day one and there’s no day they went without food or shelter or anything they need,” Hamo said through social media.
They later decided to settle the matter amicably, out of the public eye, after Hamo had DNA testing done to prove he was the father of the children.
After enjoying each other’s company and securing brand partnerships and advertisements, the two lovers called it quits once more.
They are currently co-parenting and raising their children jointly, according to Updatedamil.
