The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has summoned businessman Stanley Livondo over his statements on purported assassination attempts on President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Livondo alleged that an anonymous person attempted to murder President Kenyatta twice while speaking at Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria’s thanksgiving feast in Thika on Saturday.
According to Livondo, the purported assassination attempts included ‘crashing’ the President’s plane.
The DCI issued a notice on Monday ordering Livondo to attend at its headquarters for questioning at 2:00 p.m.
Failure to appear would be considered a criminal offense, according to the notice.
MP Moses Kuria has since distanced himself from Livondo’s dangerous comments, pushing the DCI to probe the businessman.
