On Tuesday, President William Ruto announced his nominees for the Cabinet, and now those individuals can begin to reap the perks of their positions.
One stipulation is that they must be sanctioned by a parliamentary committee before they can receive any rewards.

A monthly salary of Ksh.924,000 has been proposed for the CSs, subject to approval by the National Assembly.
According to the most recent Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) gazette notice, the total gross salary for a CS is Ksh.924,000. This includes a basic salary of Ksh.554,400, a house allowance of Ksh.200,000, and a market adjustment of Ksh.169,600. Members of the Cabinet will also be provided with a state vehicle powered by a 3,000 cc engine.
In addition, they will receive Medical Benefits, which will cover the costs of medical care for themselves, their spouse, and up to four children under the age of 25 per year.
The benefits include a sum of Ksh 10 million for inpatient care, Ksh 300,000 for outpatient care, Ksh 150,000 for maternity care, Ksh 75,000 for dental care, and Ksh 75,000 for optical care.
In addition to the Ksh.40 million mortgage, state workers will be eligible for a Ksh.10 million automobile loan.
The SRC shall periodically examine and adjust the rates at which state officers receive a daily subsistence allowance for domestic and international travel. In addition, they will get a Ksh.20,000 monthly airtime subsidy.
The Inspector General of Police will give an intangible security detail that cannot be exchanged for money.
Cabinet Secretaries are tasked with overseeing and directing government agencies in Kenya. Each minister reports to the president and is required to update parliament on ministry activities on a regular basis.
