Eng 63-3
a drive back over Jess Jonassen’s head and away for four.
A welcome first boundary in six overs for England.
Australia’s players are in a huddle at drinks and they be looking up at the scoreboard thinking ‘we need some more wickets’ with Danni Wyatt and Sophia Dunkley yet to come before England’s experienced lower order.
We know England have a really deep batting line-up but as soon as the run rate starts to climb it can bring about wickets. I think from England’s perspective they’d be happier with only one or two down but they’ve scored fairly quickly.
WICKET
Winfield-Hill c Gardner b Schutt 13 (Eng 39-3)
Oh that is not what’s needed whatsoever.
Lauren Winfield-Hill absolutely belts a pull shot out of the middle off Megan Schutt…but can only pick out Ashleigh Gardner on the deep mid-wicket boundary.
England have plenty of time and that ball wasn’t quite short enough for that shot I reckon. No need to play that at this point
