In a recent Sunday Interdenominational service, President Ruto addressed the nation, urging Kenyans to brace themselves for more stringent government measures.

He emphasized that these decisions were crucial for Kenya to reach the economic stature of countries like Singapore, Malaysia, and Korea, promising a brighter and more prosperous future for the nation.

However, the President’s speech was not the sole focus of public attention. Kenyans also took notice of his choice in accessories, specifically his belt.

Ruto sported a crocodile leather belt from Stefano Ricci, valued at $2,800, approximately KSH 480,000.

This luxurious accessory added to the scrutiny, especially considering previous instances where the President was seen with watches worth millions of shillings.

Notably, the belt in question is a Stefano Ricci creation, a brand synonymous with opulence.

The revelation of President Ruto wearing such an expensive belt sparked a wave of reactions across the nation.

On social media, user Ombu humorously remarked, “ameguza belt ya Ksh 500,000 mara ka mia,” highlighting the extravagance of the President’s choice in accessories.

Cool famou expressed disbelief, stating, “Around 427,840 around his waist, weh that’s a month’s rent In those Runda Ambassadorial homes. Money is sweet.”

This comment reflects the staggering cost of the belt in comparison to everyday expenses for many Kenyans.

Kamnchu drew attention to the irony, stating, “While wearing a 2800 dollars belt.”

This observation points to the contrast between the President’s call for readiness to endure potentially challenging decisions and his own display of high-end fashion.

The revelation of President Ruto’s expensive belt prompted discussions about the preferences of the wealthy.

Jimi Wanjigi, a prominent Kenyan billionaire, previously noted that affluent individuals often invest in accessories like watches, as they appreciate in value over time.

This insight provides context to the President’s choice in accessories, suggesting a cultural inclination among the wealthy to view such items as investments.

In the midst of discussions about economic measures and national progress, President Ruto’s fashion statement has added a layer of complexity to the public discourse.

Kenyans, both amused and critical, continue to express their views on social media, highlighting the intersection of political leadership and personal style in the public eye.

As the nation anticipates the implementation of the proposed measures, the attention on President Ruto’s choice of attire serves as a reminder of the diverse perspectives within the Kenyan populace.
