Stephen Mukangai is a well-known sports commentator and journalist in Kenya. However, it took some time before he could achieve that status. He started at the bottom and worked his way up to a successful career with Standard Media Group.

Historically speaking, Stephen Mukangai Mukangai was born in the village of Namshiya in Malava, Kakamega County. Western Kenya is where you’ll find these regions.

    The Learning Process.

He started his educational career at Namsiya Primary School before moving on to Kakamega County’s illustrious Ingotse High School. Journalism was his major at Multimedia University of Kenya, which he attended after graduating from high school.

However, Mukangai disclosed that he went through a lot since settling in Nairobi before achieving his current level of success in life and work. After graduating from high school in 2008, he moved to the city.

    Kibera’s Restroom Squeegee Service.

The radio host described his life as “hell” because he could rely on no one. He claimed he had to resort to odd occupations for financial survival. As a resident of the Kibera slums, he needed to earn a job cleaning toilets to cover basic expenses like housing and food.

It was challenging work, but he eventually settled on a career in construction. For around six months, Mukangai served as Mjengo. Because this labor was so inconsistent, he often went to bed starving.

Stephen didn’t give up; he worked hard, and when he had enough money to go to Mlango kubwa, he did so. While in town, he took a chance and showed up at the offices of standard media company, hoping to speak with Presenter Hassan mwana wa Ali.

Specifically, how Hassan Mwana wa Ali aided him

Unfortunately, early efforts failed to bear fruit. The going got rough. But one night, when he was deep in thought, Hassan Mwana wa Ali called and begged to meet with him again.

His meticulous planning paid off, as the meeting went swimmingly this time. Because of the profound impact Hassan Mwana wa Ali had on his life, he was offered the opportunity to co-host.

After securing this well-paying position, he first spoke publicly about a game between Ulinzi Stars and Red Berets (2010).

He’s already proven his worth, and Ali’s confident they’ll be working well together.

Since then, Mukangai’s skills and understanding in radio have only increased. He rose to prominence as a sports writer for Standard media. He became more well-known, which resulted in a rise in his compensation.

The media mogul is rumored to make between ksh.300,000 and ksh.400,000 each month, which supports his extravagant lifestyle.
