In the intricate journey of living with HIV, individuals often confront numerous challenges, and among them, the occasional lapse in medication adherence stands as a significant hurdle.

Doreen Moraa Moracha, a resilient woman born with HIV, recently shared a candid revelation on her Facebook page, shedding light on a moment when she inadvertently forgot to take her antiretroviral medications (ARVs) for three consecutive days.

In her heartfelt post, Doreen Moracha opened up about the impact of this temporary lapse, detailing how, by the third day, she began to feel a noticeable difference in her well-being.

During a phone call with a friend, she expressed her sentiments of feeling somewhat off-kilter, prompting her astute friend to inquire about her ARV regimen. It was this timely reminder that prompted Doreen to resume her medication routine.

In her own words, Doreen shared, “There is a time I forgot to take my ARVs for 3 days. By day 3, I was feeling like an android. I was on a call with my friend and telling him I feel somehow; he asked if I’d taken my ARVs. I think I’m at that stage of aging with HIV; memory loss has kicked in.”

This candid admission serves as a poignant reminder of the daily challenges faced by individuals living with HIV and the crucial role that consistent medication plays in maintaining health and well-being.
