The quiet town of Mkwawa, Iringa Municipality, was shaken to its core by the discovery of two lifeless individuals in an eatery.
Swiga Mwakalobo, affectionately known as Mama Lishe, a 35-year-old food vendor, and her male customer, Jacob Chang’a, were found unclothed, leaving the community in shock and disbelief.
Allan Bukumbi, the Regional Police Commander of Iringa, has confirmed the incident and assured the public that comprehensive investigations are currently underway.

This shocking discovery unfolded on the morning of October 6, 2023, after concerned relatives sought out Swiga, who had not returned home the previous night, a Sunday that would forever change the lives of those involved.
Neighbours, who had witnessed Swiga’s bustling restaurant just the night before, were baffled by the tragedy that unfolded. Swiga, renowned for her culinary skills, was engaged in her restaurant tasks as usual.
However, what appeared to be an ordinary evening soon spiraled into a nightmarish reality.
Hamza Hamisi, a relative of Swiga, shared their last encounter with her. “Just the night before, Swiga was busy with her restaurant tasks, and because she usually takes time to finish due to morning meal preparations, we had no cause for concern.”
Little did they know that this seemingly routine night would be her last.
Alarm bells began ringing on Monday morning when Swiga failed to make an appearance.

Worried neighbours tried to reach her by phone, but their efforts proved futile.
Desperation set in, and they made their way to her restaurant, the epicenter of the unfolding tragedy.
Ibrahim Issa, a resident of Mkwawa, recounted the chilling moment they heard Swiga’s phone ringing from inside the restaurant with the door firmly locked.
Fear gnawed at them as they peered inside, only to be confronted by the horrifying sight of two lifeless bodies, devoid of clothing. The shock was overwhelming.
With the discovery of the lifeless pair, Hamis Chananja, the Chairman of Imalanongwa Street, acted swiftly.
He and others at the scene promptly called the police, who arrived with urgency.
The law enforcement authorities are now fully immersed in a painstaking investigation to unravel the mysteries surrounding this tragic incident.
The community of Mkwawa and Iringa at large is left with many questions, and a profound sense of sorrow looms over the loss of Mama Lishe, a beloved figure, and her unfortunate customer, Jacob Chang’a.
As the investigation proceeds, the community can only hope for answers that will shed light on this heart-wrenching event and provide closure to the grieving families.
