Renowned Kenyan musician and entrepreneur Esther Akoth, popularly known as Akothee, has issued a stern warning to Migori County politicians who have allegedly threatened her for her involvement in local affairs.
In a statement shared on her social media platforms, the mother of five clarified her stance on the matter, emphasizing that she has no intention of pursuing a political role in the county.

Despite actively engaging in Migori County’s activities, Akothee underlined that her role primarily serves as an ambassador for the region, not as a political contender.
She made her position clear, stating, “I am not in Migori to take anyone’s place. I have no interest in county politics. I am doing a job that I was appointed for. Love will make me lose sleep, and the local side shows of politics will also take my soul away!” Akothee expressed these sentiments on Instagram.
Akothee, the 43-year-old musician known for her colorful life, directed her message towards Migori County politicians, chastising them for their perceived negligence in fulfilling their duties.
She firmly reiterated to them that she has no intentions of vying for any political office.
“I have no interest in politics. I don’t even understand its structure. Stop me,” she declared, leaving no room for ambiguity.
She emphasized that she would not tolerate any threats or hindrances from anyone and pointed out that she has built her personal brand independently of politics.
Akothee made it abundantly clear that she is not in competition with any politician and is simply serving as a county ambassador, carrying out her designated responsibilities.
“I was born and raised in Migori County. I married in Kamagambo, and my children cast their votes in Migori County. I have my democratic rights and a brand to protect. Let’s respect each other,” she implored the politicians.
The singer expressed her deep disappointment with the state of politics in her home county, highlighting that some politicians have already begun campaigning for the 2027 elections.

Akothee believes that the political climate in Migori has had adverse effects on the local community, resulting in a loss of investments and investors due to the tumultuous political environment.
She called for a more dignified approach to politics, stating, “Migori’s bad politics has adversely impacted our people. There is no one to show them the right way of politics.
We have lost investments and investors due to our tumultuous politics. Let’s be gentlemen. We need leaders who believe in themselves, not those who feel intimidated by individuals who are focused on their personal affairs.”
Akothee’s message to Migori County politicians is one of unequivocal clarification regarding her role and intentions.
She stands as a county ambassador, dedicated to her duties, and is resolute in her decision to remain uninvolved in the political sphere.
Her passionate plea for a more dignified and positive political landscape resonates with many who hope for a better future for Migori County.
