A teacher who was arrested while mending a student’s uniform reportedly traveled to Mombasa to relax. Many Kenyans came to admire Madam Joyce Sempela Malit after seeing a photo of her fixing a student’s ripped outfit.

The majority of online users remarked how nurturing she was. The Teacher’s Service Commission was petitioned by her supporters to give her a raise.
Shirleen Saiton Saipiri was revealed to be the student in question. She attends Siyiapei Primary School in the Narok North subcounty, where she is in the second grade. Joyce, Shirleen’s teacher, claimed she couldn’t allow her student walk home in a damaged uniform.

Saiton was raised in the deepest recesses of Narok County by his nomadic parents. The child had to move in with her grandparents since she wanted to go to school and her parents were adamant about it.
About 3 kilometers separate the house and the campus. She often went on solitary strolls through the bush. She was afraid to walk through the thicket on her way to school because she might be assaulted by wild animals or strangers.

When the story went viral, there was an outpouring of tremendous responses and encouragement.
Mike Sonko, the newly elected governor of Nairobi County Mike Sonko paid her full boarding costs for a year and pledged to help her financially while she attended college. The little girl’s supporters pooled their resources to help her with the costs associated with boarding school.
Olakira TV also gave Joyce, a teacher, a sewing machine.
Expedition Maasai Safaris, a firm that has won numerous awards, had offered to transport Joyce and Shirleen, two teachers, to Mombasa. An update on the business’s Facebook page states that they “finally” left for the trip today.
