Once again, everyone’s hero, Mike Sonko, has come to the rescue of his fellow citizens. On Monday, police arrested Imelda Mwendwa Kiguda after she was accused of damaging her boyfriend’s property after learning of his infidelity.
During her rage, the accused allegedly damaged her boyfriend’s television and vandalized his car. She was given a monetary bail of sh100,000 after appearing in court.
Mike Sonko stated his displeasure with the participants, expressing his dissatisfaction with the way the incident was handled. In response to his detractors, he emphasized that his help was an act of goodwill and asked that it not be analyzed too deeply. Sonko went even farther, making an open plea to any female attorney who would take on the case, and promising to pay for everything out of his own pocket.
Sonko made an emotional appeal to the male population, pleading with them not to take revenge on their wives or girlfriends if they ever find themselves in a similar circumstance. Instead of condemnation, he called for tolerance and forgiveness.
Mike Sonko has been a lifeline for struggling Kenyans before. He had previously helped a man who had been caught shoplifting at Naivas Supermarket by paying his sh100,000 punishment.
Mike Sonko is quickly becoming known as “Kenya’s Knight in Shining Armor” for his tireless efforts on behalf of ordinary mwananchi and for reasserting time and again that he is the champion of the people.
