Daudi Mustafa, better known by his stage name Colonel Mustafa, has now spoken out about how he lost everything despite being a well-known figure and earning well in the music business.
This comes a few days after a video showing him working at a construction site to generate money for his ailing mother went viral. He was doing this to support himself and his mother, who was ill.
Due to this, Kenyan celebrities banded together to raise money for him. He has since received over Ksh 1 million, allowing him to start anew and try to regain his former fame.
The Sports Ministry has also contributed to helping Mustafa in his next stage of life through CS Babu Namwamba.
Mustafa revealed in an exclusive interview with a local publication that he regretted spending his money on unnecessary things when his music career was at its height.
Before things went bad, he said that he spent his money on slayqueens and alcohol.
He has promised that after being given a second chance, he has realized his error and will utilize all available means to prevent repeating it.
“When I had money, I was naive and young. I’m older and wiser now. I pledge to my supporters that the money they have given would be used wisely, especially for my mother’s care,” he said.
