A video of a nurse dancing for a patient in a hospital went viral, warming the hearts of many Kenyans who were moved by the nurse’s efforts to cheer up the child.

Lukresia Robai, a health worker, has since become an internet sensation for her selfless actions while attending to the patient.
In an interview on Monday, November 7, the nurse revealed that the video was shot while she was on duty at the Kitale County referral hospital.
She explained that while making rounds at the facility, she came across a child who was depressed and decided to cheer him up by dancing to a popular children’s song.
“The patient was admitted with a fracture on his leg and seemed timid. I played the music from my phone and started dancing and that livened him up. As a nurse, I felt obliged to ensure that my patients are okay,” she explained.
Her trick worked because the patient, who was sitting upright on the bed, started moving his arms and legs. He smiled as she did so.
Robai revealed that she attended the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) in Kitale. She started at the college in 2020 and she is studying nursing.
The bubbly nurse went on to say that dancing is her passion and that she uses it to spread messages of hope to those around her, including strangers.
“I initially began as a motivational speaker and had a YouTube channel. I created the channel to motivate and inspire the youth and incorporated dancing to push my message further,” she stated.
A look into some of her social media accounts reveals that she has danced alongside people from all walks of life including street children, watchmen and boda boda riders to brighten their days.
On Tiktok, she has nearly 79,000 followers and has accrued nearly half-a-million likes.
Kenyans on social media have tried to reach out to her to personally appreciate her noble act, with the majority recommending her for changing the perception of Kenyan nurses.
