Former Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko Mbuvi has released images of ex-boxer Conjestina Achieng’s 45th birthday.

The Kenyan celebrity is undergoing treatment at the Mombasa Women Rehab Centre.
Sonko posted images of her at the institution as they celebrated her one-year birthday. Her son, Charltone Otieno, 25, was also present at the gathering.
Conjestina seemed to be in better health in the images, compared to when she was at home in Siaya.
Sonko claimed that when the country celebrated Mashujaa Day, he celebrated in style by joining Conjestina, his heroine.
“We celebrated Mashujaa day in style by joining one of our great shujaas Conjestina Achieng, for her 45th birthday.
This also gave us a chance to share happy moments of the day with lunch, soft drinks, cake cutting, dance and fun with everyone at the Mombasa Women rehab centre,” Sonko said.
“Happy birthday Heroine Conjestina and happy Mashujaa to us all, who strive to be heroes/heroines in our little different ways each single day,” Sonko added.
Conjestina became the first African woman to hold an international title during her career when she defeated Ugandan Fiona Tugume to win the vacant WIBF Middleweight title.
Conjestina was defeated by WBC and WBA Super middleweight Natascha Ragosina in a contentious title battle.
Conjestina, a single mother, had previously competed in the middleweight division.
The famed Kenyan boxer’s health problems began in January 2011, when her father appealed to Kenyans for assistance in transporting her to the hospital when her mental health deteriorated.

Ida Odinga once took her to the Mathare Hospital, which specializes in treating persons with mental illnesses.
The former boxer was among the inmates who escaped from Mathare Hospital in 2016, but he was subsequently apprehended and re-admitted to the hospital.
