Yesterday, President William Ruto appointed his new cabinet, weeks after he assumed the office of the president. Speaking to TV47, Dadaab Member of parliament that is Farah Maalim, has commented on William Ruto’s new cabinet.
Maalim claims that Ruto usually rewards his friends because he value them the most. Despite of Ruto’s friends not having the idea on how to perform a task, Maalim claims that Ruto will even go to an extent of teaching them the basics of their roles.
“President William Ruto values friendship a lot and he rewards that. Even if his friend is not up to the task, he would be willing to literally seat down with him and even take him through the basic things.” Farah Maalim said.
After the fall out between Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto, majority of Ruto’s closest allies were publicly humiliated by the government. To MP Maalim, here is when Ruto got his true friends who later trusted them with serious roles in his government.
“President William Ruto needed some of his closest associates to trust them with serious roles. There are no enemies now.” Farah Maalim stated.
However, the lawmaker went on and termed Prime Cabinet Secretary (Musalia Mudavadi’s position) as the de facto of the Prime Minister. On what job the Prime Cabinet Secretary will do, Maalim Claimed that Musalia Mudavadi will be acting as a monitor in William Ruto’s cabinet.
“The Prime Cabinet Secretary (Musalia Mudavadi) is now the de facto Prime Minister. He will coordinate and direct all the cabinet ministers, he is basically there as a monitor.” Farah Maalim added.
While commenting on former president relationship with Prof. Njuguna Ndung’u who is the former Governor of the central bank. Maalim claims that Uhuru Kenyatta ignored him yet Njuguna had good ideas, heaping praises to Late Mwai Kibaki who according to him did a good job together.
“Prof. Njuguna Ndung’u is one of the best governors of the central bank we have ever had and it’s a pity that ex-president Uhuru didn’t listen to him. He did a very good job with Kibaki.” Farah Maalim added.
