Michael Gitonga, also known as Mike Gitonga, is a former KTN News anchor. He currently works in the office of Kenya’s first lady, Rachael Ruto.

His path to the top, however, has not been simple since his days as a supermarket cleaner.
According to reputable sources, he stated in 2019 that he had to work part-time as a floor cleaner to raise school fees while attending classes during the day.
It should be emphasized that after leaving France due to a communication barrier, Gitonga pursued a degree in electrical engineering at Nottingham University in the United Kingdom.
His entry into the media was somewhat an accident since he had gone to a radio station to oversee the recording of an advert for his church.
Fortunately, the station’s owner happened to be passing by, and the two struck up a conversation that would launch his career, catapulting him into media prominence.
Mike hosted Morning Express and anchored news on several bulletins while at KTN News.

On September 13, following the inauguration of the country’s fifth President, the journalist updated his social media bio to reflect his new post as Communication Director in the First Lady’s Office.
According to reports, the writer, who has a strong Christian background and also works as a pastor on the side, has been working with First Lady Rachel Ruto for some time.
