As Kenyans await the IEBC’s announcement of the winner of the Presidential race, Deputy President William Ruto’s family has traveled from Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, to Nairobi to be with him.
On this Sunday, August 14th, the DP and his supporters were seen sharing a meal at his Karen altar, where the DP’s family was also present. They appear to be praying for the DP to win the Presidential election.

After that, the Eldoret family took the lead in leading the congregation in the worship song “Ni Salama Rohoni Mwangu” during the time of fellowship.
Mama Sarah Cherono Cheruiyot (Left), the mother of DP Ruto, leading the congregation in worship during a Sunday service in Karen.
While the DP and his wife were on their feet singing, we also noticed that the DP’s mom was standing to her feet, as if to bow before the Most High.

Next thing we knew, they were well into the worship song, and we could make out the DP’s younger brother, who had been a member of his campaign team back in the election season.
As you can see in the video below, David Samoei Ruto, accompanied by his sisters, also enthusiastically led the congregation in singing.

If you watch the video below, you’ll see that Mama Sarah Cherono knew every word to that song by heart and didn’t need a hymnal to lead the congregation in song.
