Jamaican Reggae Artist Jah Cure To Face 8 Years In Prison For Attempted Murder

Prosecutors in the Netherlands have requested that Jah Cure, a Jamaican reggae performer, be sentenced to eight years in jail for attempted murder.
Jah Cure is accused of stabbing Nicardo ‘papa’ Blake, a Dutch promoter, in October 2021 in Amsterdam after a disagreement about money for a show the promoter had planned.

Prosecutors recommended an eight-year sentence with credit for time served when closing arguments for his case were presented today. He has been in prison since October of last year.
The prosecutor concluded his closing remarks by stating that Jah Cure did not act in self-defense as he had claimed previously, because the evidence showed that he purposefully sought confrontation. He further stated that the suspect’s actions put the general public in danger because the incident occurred in broad daylight in Amsterdam’s bustling city center.
On March 22, the reggae musician will learn his fate after a verdict in his trial, which began on Tuesday before a Dutch court.
