Russian troops smash the world’s largest aircraft, the “Mriya.”
Mriya is the world’s largest and most powerful plane developed since the fall of the Soviet Union.
Russian strikes hit the Antonov AN-225 “Mriya” outside Kyiv airfield on Sunday, February 27.
Before the Russians struck and destroyed the aircraft, it was parked on the airfield.

The plane had been on the ground near Kyiv on February 24 for repair, according to sources.
Despite the required directives, the engine was believed to have been disassembled, causing the aircraft to fail to take off. Russian forces claimed to have occupied the airfield where the AN-225 had been parked.

According to the defense firm in charge of the aircraft, Mriya’s restoration will take at least five years and cost more than three billion dollars.
Several Ukrainians resorted to social media to express their grief over the loss of Ukraine’s largest-ever plane and the globe at large.
In Ukraine, the word “Mriya” means “dream.”
