Moses Kuria, the Gatundu South Member of Parliament, has stated that he is open to cooperating with the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) as long as the team does not join the Azimio La Umoja movement.
Kuria, who will be running for governor of Kiambu in the August General Election under his Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) party, claimed he met with OKA leaders Kalonzo Musyoka, Martha Karua, Cyrus Jirongo, and Gideon Moi on Sunday.

“Today I was hosted by my good friends from the One Kenya Alliance led by H.E Hon Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Hon Martha Karua (NARC-K), Cyrus Jirongo (UDP) and KANU Executive Director George Wainaina representing Sen Gideon Moi,” wrote Kuria on his Facebook page.
Kuria and his party had been invited to join the OKA brigade, according to the CCK party leader.
They invited Chama Cha Kazi and myself to join the One Kenya Alliance,” he added.
“Whereas we share many ideals between Chama Cha Kazi and OKA, we agreed to work together as long as OKA is not joining the Azimio Coalition which is incompatible with myself and the Chama Cha Kazi Party.”
On Wednesday, March 2, he attended a meeting with the OKA co-principals to “agree on the way forward,” he said.
OKA stated on Friday that it had decided to join Raila Odinga’s Azimio la Umoja Coalition.
OKA leaders announced their decision to join the ODM and Jubilee parties in forming a grand coalition termed Azimio – One Kenya Alliance in a joint statement delivered by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
“The One Kenya Alliance wishes to inform Kenyans that it has officially initiated open and structured dialogue with like-minded political formations, namely the Jubilee Coalition and the ODM Party,” Kalonzo said.
On Monday, February 28, official documents will be signed, and the agreement document will be presented to the Registrar of Political Parties.
Kuria has been a strong booster of Karua in recent months, claiming that she would make an excellent presidential running mate in the 2022 elections.
Other than the presidential aspirants, Kuria believes Karua, with whom they are members of the Mount Kenya Unity Forum, is the finest person to bequeath the country’s powers.
Meanwhile, the CCK’s National Delegates Conference will take place on March 15 in Kenya’s Bomas.
