A 60-year-old man was murdered and his wife gang-raped by unknown individuals at Got Kowino village in Rachuonyo East, according to police in Homa Bay County.
According to area assistant chief Peter Odero, the old man was accosted while sleeping on Tuesday night by a gang using a machete and other primitive weapons, who hacked him to death.
Before disappearing, the gangs -raped the deceased’s physically handicapped 40-year-old wife, according to Odero.
- The dead had significant cuts on his forehead, and his body was discovered in a pool of blood on his bed.
- Odero went on to say that the incident was tied to a long-running land dispute between the deceased and his brothers.
The body of the dead was transferred to the mortuary at Rachuonyo Level IV Hospital, where his wife is still recovering.
