- Abel Oyieyo Onchari who is the Head of Operations for Centre for African Progress has today break silence about the fall of Raila Odinga.Speaking to TV47 during the morning show, Onchari revealed that the former Prime Minister depended so much on many people compared to previous days when he used to work hard.
“Raila Odinga works very hard when he is fighting for the presidency alone. In 2022, he was lured into believing that the presidency could be delivered to him on a silver platter and he lost it in a very painful way.” Oyieyo Onchari stated.
However, he added that many people never voted for Raila as he turned out to favour other politicians. For example, he revealed that Raila took sides while giving his brother (Oburu Odinga) and other politicians a direct ODM ticket.
“You see people like Oburu Odinga who were given direct tickets and other incidents like when Raila took sides in the Kidero and Gladys Wanga race. Many people never voted for ODM because of the lack of democracy.” Oyieyo Onchari added.
Mr Onchari went on and stated that some politicians in ODM are there with the aim of getting favours from Raila and nothing else.
“There are political conmen who want to benefit from Raila’s off-shoulders. The young men and women in ODM should make it their duty to grow democracy.” Oyieyo Onchari added.
