Fred Matiang’i, the Cabinet Secretary for the Interior, testified before a National Assembly committee and detailed the number of guards stationed at Deputy President William Ruto’s several residences.

Six officers were assigned to protect the Dolphine Hotel, where the DP is staying in Shanzu, Mombasa County, as revealed by the CS.

The hotel, which occupies a 10-acre plot of land close to the Flamingo Pride Inn resort, has an estimated 600 guest rooms.
The hotel supposedly has a partnership with some airlines that send visitors to the hotel without having to go through any other stops during their trip to the country, and shares management with the nearby Weston Hotel.

It is expected that the DP spent roughly Ksh 600 million on its development by Avco Agencies between 2016 and 2018.
When locals complained that construction debris was being dumped on a public beach, the county government halted the project. But the standstill didn’t last long, and work eventually resumed with the contractor.

Kitengela Gas Company, Murumbi Farm in Transmara (395 Hectares), ADC Laikipia Mutara Ranch, Dolphine Hotel in Mombasa (3 Hectares), and Mata Farm in Taita Taveta are just a few of the other businesses that the DP owns (1,026 Hectares).
