Former anti-graft official John Githongo brought the whistleblower to the case in an affidavit he filed with the Supreme Court, in which he claimed to be one of 56 employed IT specialists who participated in modifying the form 34As.
In his comments, he implied that he was in charge of the result-fakers. He said a presidential candidate had hired him to do work for them.

After they received the data in the KIEMS kit, he admitted his guilt and gave them permission to change it. After that, the “Uchaguzi 2022” server at the IEBC was used to transmit the updated Form 34As to the IEBC portal. The IEBC obviously let a contracted IT expert in. He didn’t say who hired them, though.

He disclosed that a single individual had employed all 56 of the IT specialists. Githongo said in his affidavit that he was in charge of everything. The 56 IT specialists managed to sway the outcomes and keep the truth hidden.
