Jimmy Wanjigi, a presidential candidate and businessman, has joined Paul Muite’s Safina Party.

Wanjigi stated he joined Safina because of its principles after receiving the party’s life membership certificate.
“Those who were thinking Safina is dead, let me assure them that with Muite’s wisdom we shall sail through the third liberation as they’ll actualize it,” Wanjigi said.
Wanjigi, who left ODM after being kicked out of the NDC, said he forgives ODM Secretary Edwin Sifuna for his actions.
He has encouraged people to join the party ahead of the NDC, when he would be presented as the flagbearer on March 21, 2022. Wanjigi is the only person who has expressed interest in running for president on the Safina Party ticket so far.
Paul Muite, the leader of the Safina Party, said the party is sure of winning the August General Elections and will campaign as a unit till the end.
He went on to say that he only ran in 2013 to set a record, and that anyone who is not from a famous family can run for the seat.
“We will stand on our own and no one will force us into pre-election coalitions. I vied for the presidency in 2013 to encourage your children and my children that you don’t have to come from any particular family to contest,” Muite said.
