Big Blow To Ruto As Uhuru Is Set To Endorse Raila Today
President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to announce his endorsement of Raila as the best suit to take over his office. This is a big boost and a win for Raila. The local dailies on Tuesday morning highlighted that President Uhuru Kenyatta gave signals that he would back the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga in the August 9 elections. According to the daily nation today, Uhuru is expected to formally throw his weight behind Raila’ s quest for the presidency. Uhuru is also expected to launch his succession roadmap at the forthcoming Jubilee Party National Delegates Conference (NDC). On Monday, February 7, Uhuru warned those opposing him and the Azimio La Umoja coalition to prepare for a tough battle accusing Ruto of doing nothing but talking ill about him. In another reported news by Taifa Leo, Leaders associated with the Kenya Kwanza Alliance have found themselves on the receiving end after announcing plans to scrap the Competency- Based Curriculum (CBC). Led by the Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi, the leaders said they would scrap off CBC to end confusion in the education system. But Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) secretary- general Collins Oyuu cautioned leaders against politicising CBC. The idea of CBC is to let learners discover their talents and acquire real- world skills such as critical thinking. 3.
