Earlier, we were delighted to receive comrades from Kyegegwa District, Kagadi District, Kaliro District and Mbale City, at the NUP Headquarters. These comrades came to check on us and express solidarity with all our people who have gone through incredible challenges these past two years. I am glad to note that despite all the intimidation, our people are still standing strong even in far away places.
At the same event, we received several comrades whose loved ones are still missing, for over a year. It is heartbreaking to see these women whose husbands are missing without trace. Our comrades from Mbale narrated their experience under illegal detention for over a year. They were picked up in December 2020 and released on bail in December 2021.
Despite the propaganda, the arrests and all manner of schemes, we continue to grow from strength to strength because the truth is with us. Ultimately, we shall be free.
