Mombasa County Governor Hassan Joho may ditch Raila’s ODM Party for Ruto’s UDA Party.
ODM Leader Raila Odinga has been a close friend to the Mombasa County Boss Governor Joho. Governor Ali is currently in his second term as the Mombasa governor after gaining the seat in 2013 and 2017 through the ODM ticket.
However,they started experiencing technicality in their friendships at the beginning of the year when Mombasa County boss announced that he will be competing with Raila for the position of ODM Party flag bearer in the presidential race.
He however backed down and has continued to support the ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Last week Raila Odinga prematurely finished his rally in the coast region before leaving for a burial ceremony and the rallies were not attended by Mombasa County Governor Ali Joho who had gone to visit his ailing friend Moses Kuria.
This therefore means that he may have requested the party to allow him go as see his friend or he may have prioritized Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria who is a serious supporter of DP Ruto to ODM Party.
The governor’s brother is also alleged to have joined the UDA Party and will be using the party to run for the Mombasa gubernatorial seat. Thus therefore shows that something is cooking and Governor may ditch ODM Party and decamp to Ruto’s UDA.
