Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta is a well-known and influential figure in Kenya and across Africa.

He served as president for 10 years, from 2013 to 2022, and then turned over power to his vice president and current president, Dr. William Samoe Ruto.
The office of President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta has reportedly issued a statement today in response to rumors that it has been funding Azimio’s protests across the country for the past two weeks.
Uhuru’s office has denied that the former head of state is behind these demonstrations, as reported by the Star Newspaper this morning.

According to the star, Kenyatta’s relatives have made the same denial of involvement in Azimio’s demonstrations.
Kenya Kwanza friends have claimed that the former first family has been using their personal wealth to fund the weekly rallies, which have cost an estimated shs 40 million.
These allegations have progressed to the point where Kenya Kwanza has proposed legislation to reduce the previous president’s pension for Uhuru Kenyatta.
Mr. Dennis Itumbi is spearheading this initiative, and he has created a website where Kenyans may sign a petition in favor of reducing the pensions of Uhuru Kenyatta, hon. Raila Odinga, and Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka.
