Prof. Kithure Kindiki, the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration, has stated that those responsible for planning and sponsoring the recent protests would be arrested and prosecuted.
Prof. Kithure Kindiki stated in a news release that the government has activated all appropriate law enforcement agencies to investigate, capture, and prosecute individuals responsible for the planning and execution of the suspected illegal activities during the protests. The leaders of Azimio should take this as a warning.

Multiple news outlets have reported that at least eight people were killed as a result of the turmoil felt across the country. The administration has promised punishment for everyone who contributed to yesterday’s breach of public safety and national security.
Prof. Kithure Kindiki has claimed that politicians with ties to Azimio leader Raila Odinga directed the violent demonstrations.
Didmus Barasa, a member of parliament representing Kimilili, has called for Raila’s arrest and warned that legislators who are against the weekly protests will rally their followers to protect themselves and their companies from the demonstrators.
