A 123-year-old woman has shocked the world with her moving account of surviving without a husband or children for over a century.
The elderly Rwandan woman from the village told Afrimax TV that she had never seen a naked man or had sexual relations with one in her entire life.
No man has ever been in my life. My age is officially recorded at 123 years. My account is a bit unique. True, I am still a virgin. The lonely Nyirakajumba Peragie reflected, “I used to think a lot about love when I was young, but I could never meet any man.”
The centenarian explained that it all started in the early 1900s, when she hit adolescence and broke the unspoken rule that girls in her area were not allowed to associate with guys.
She detailed how her isolated existence resulted from her strict adherence to this custom.
I avoided all male company out of principle. I was terrified of them as a kid, which may have been why I never settled down with anyone. “I remember seeing men walking by our house, but I never felt anything for them,” she reflected.
Because so many of her friends were married, the elderly woman felt a growing need for a husband as the years passed. But no matter how hard she tried, she just couldn’t locate a suitable male companion.
I was well past my prime childbearing years when I finally realized I needed a husband. I was older, and men didn’t want to bother me because of it,” she explained.
The woman is rather elderly, but she is not giving up hope that she will find a guy to love before she finally meets God.
“I still haven’t given up on meeting someone who likes me. I won’t waste any time pursuing such a person if I do find them. Even though I realize my age is a deal breaker for many men, I refuse to give up hope of finding a decent life partner. I really think you could help me locate a mate right now,” she remarked.
