Popular Kenyan journalist Linda Oguttu has changed her Twitter handle to something else.

If you’re a fan of hers on that platform, you’ve probably seen that she now introduces herself as “Jagedo aka mtu ya mjengo.”

The former KTN News anchor has taken to going by the name in response to the relentless online harassment she has endured.

A number of users have asserted that after leaving her position at the Ministry of Sports, she is currently employed in the’mjengo’ building industry.

Her new name is listed below.

Just hours before changing the name, Linda Oguttu took to Twitter to savagely hit back at the trolls who have been stating that she has a harder life now that she has missed out on government posts.

As long as it means having food on the table at the end of the day, she sees no problem with working on a construction site.

Linda Oguttu told her supporters that she has experience working odd jobs to make ends meet, including working as a hawker.

Do not continue forwarding this story to me. I’ve worked as a salesman in this city before. Starting pay was $4,000. At home in Gachie. In other words, no hustling necessary.

Let’s pretend I’m employed by a mjengo; shida iko wapi? To the extent that we feed our families. In that time, Linda Oguttu remarked that eating food straight from kibandasky was the best part.

However, rumors began spreading that the television star worked in the construction industry after a photo of her in uniform surfaced online.

She, like the other people in the picture, had a bright yellow helmet and an orange reflective jacket.

This picture, however, was taken at Mwache Dam earlier this year.

Linda Oguttu had previously stated that her role on the project was that of a consultant and not an employee.
